It is that time of the year when civilian employees must decide what available insurance benefits packages will best suit their needs over the next year. To assist employees in making an informed decision, there will be a federal benefits open season health insurance fair held at The Landing (Bldg. 450) on 5-7 November and 3-5 December from 0900-1600. Civilian employees will be able to meet face-to-face with health insurance representatives at the health insurance fair who can answer questions about the various plans they offer. Supervisors are encouraged to let employees attend the health insurance fair if workload allows it.
It is highly recommended that employees research the various plans that are offered to help make an informed decision about what plans best suit their needs and their budgets. The cost of plans can change considerably from year to year and/or certain plans may no longer be accepted by certain health care providers that may have been in the past. Attached is the 2020 Health Insurance Premium Rates for your review. This year's federal insurance benefits open season is 11 November-9 December. Therefore, the last day to make changes is 9 December 2019.
